Our History About Us

Introduction

Uncle City Tailor is a privately owned family business founded decades ago and the skills passed from generation to generation. It is owned and run by Mr. Lithuso Mujovo and has been a registered company from 2016. Our aim has and still is to empower youth through the love of fashion, design and applied creativity as well as working in a managed structure/ workplace while accomplishing a same goal as a team. We come from the previously disadvantaged families but have worked hard to build a business applying the skill sets we learned from our parents and ensuring that we turn that skill in to a productive business that will feed the generations to come. We recognise the value and the support we received from our community hence youth empowerment is our focus. We look for market opportunities available and we strive to feel the gap; we rise above the obstacles and we face them with determination- we do not give up.

Background

UCT headquarters are located at Malelane MdladlaTrust under the Nkomazi municipality in Mpumalanga. This is where the main production and offices used to be held. However, over the years as the business grows, we managed to open two other branches in different location. One is a warehouse in which trainings and production now operates. The other location is a store where our final goods are sold. We have qualified and experienced staff with many years of experience who share the same ambitions and goals as the management does hence working together to ensure the success of the business.

Current Status

Uncle City Tailor is the business that has managed to secure several contracts with schools around Nkomazi and thus uniform manufacturing has been one of our main products that we focus on. We also provide embroidery services that includes digitization of new and existing company logos, designing workwear, golf t-shirts or any product that needs to be embroidered at our facilities. Since the company’s registration in 2016 we are still going strong and strategizing to keep up with the economic changes and the market needs. Mission and vision statement.
